This vibrant and beautiful photo is a favorite from this past summer. It’s a treat to watch as this sweet little bee nestles up to its flower. You can’t always plan these moments, but sometimes, if you’re lucky, they can happen.
I really enjoy taking photos of flowers. And more often than not, just as I’m closing in on the perfect shot, someone comes along and steals the show.

And as I was playing around with a few photos from earlier in the summer, an idea began forming in my head about a bee and a butterfly…
Isn’t it funny how some things come together exactly as they should at just the right moment?
As soon as my daughter Joanna laid eyes on these old pieces of outdoor decor she said: “Mama, you need to paint these!”

And she was right…

So, on a warm afternoon in August, that’s exactly what we did….

The residue from the paint we used left such a pretty imprint on the cardboard underneath, that I had to take some photos…

Meanwhile, we cleaned up our cute little bee friends too 🐝

I had some fun ideas in mind here, but upon seeing my children’s excitement over wanting them for themselves, I set aside my plans and let them get creative…

We did our best to contain the mess...

I looked on as a fun summer memory emerged…

Weston’s art work is on your left, while Joanna’s sits to your right.
And let’s not forget so quickly about our newly painted butterflies--a perfect fit in any little girl's bedroom. Is it just me or do they appear to be settling in quite nicely in their new home?
